  3. Endangering the planet? the only people endangering the planet are third word countries destroying the rain forests and burgeoning populations and China and India with their rampant pollution. No one's talking about that. Let's create another huge bureaucracy, spend trillions of dollars, most of which the US would have to pony up, to reduce the planet's temperature by a fraction of a degree C. The US would also have a talking head in Paris, drawing a huge salary, telling us what we can and can't do with our industry and energy resources. Trump, being the astute businessman that he is, stated our position on participating perfectly: "No way. It's not going to happen."
