  3. Barack Obama has been widely credited with creating the conditions that brought ISIS to the fore. Obama shares top billing with G.W. Bush for having landed us in the costly and complicated Middle East situation. Trump's pinprick in Assad's ass was meant to show the world that our country has a decisive president who can take action without dawdling over it for months. I don't see him involving ground troops or in any other way getting us back into futile wars in the Middle East. ISIS and its fellow terrorist groups can only be neutralized through espionage, covert operations against defined targets and the strict control of our borders. I think that's the strategy he will adopt. Meanwhile he'll get domestic oil production going and launch conservation initiatives to hasten the day when we won't need Middle Eastern supply. Energy independence should be a national priority.

  4. Maybe this move by Trump was to deflect attention away from his Russian hacking of the election scandal! :-) I wonder when CNN and MSNBC will start to hype that idea? Should we ignore all this as we've been told to ignore the Susan Rice scandal? Very high confidence sounds like what the CIA has been telling us about Trump's rigging the election. We should dump Syria in Russia's lap and get the hell out.
