***** I'm inclined to think he was the last really good president. Maybe JFK, too. In his farewell speech he warned about the industrial military complex. Did we listen? No. Eisenhower was an amazing visionary.

***** To be honest I wasn't as involved in politics back then as I am now. I do not remember too much about Nixon except being disappointed he lost too JFK in 1960 but was glad he came back in 1968. I always thought of Reagan as a good speaker and one who inspired the nation to pull together for the common good and to feel proud to be an American. He had his critics, but I generally thought he was a good president even if just as a figure head. I started paying closer attention to politics when Clinton came along and disgraced the office of the presidency with his philandering and the rumors of him dropping the ball on intelligence information that might have avoided 9/11. Then GWB came along with his Iraq war and Obama with his seemingly anti-American rhetoric even though he's supposed to be the leader. Obama has to be the worst, if not one of the worst, presidents ever. Maybe L:BJ was worse because of Vietnam, but that's about it. Since I've become totally disgusted with incompetent politicians and the mess they've made of the nations and its finances, independents in this election cycle, to me, were a welcome change.

***** Yes, LBJ put through the Hart-Sellar Act in 1965 which has had the "unforeseen consequences" of tons of third world people pouring into the country. You can Google that if you want to know more. Vietnam wasn't his only blunder. Reagan energized the nation. That's a good way to put it. I'll have to remember that. I have a feeling Trump is going to win. Hillary is low energy and slipping in the polls.
