I've always been puzzled at how close together the homes were built. Many renovated places now have a lot of open space aroudn them.

@Mis_con_strued Detroit lost its industry and most of the good jobs that kept your old neighborhood going. When the money goes, so does the environment. Bad management at GM, Ford and Chrysler is largely to blame. Unreasonable demands from Unions, too.

Some progress has been made but a lot of urban prairie seems to have been the solution with quite a few derelict structures still standing same as almost 10 years ago. Detroit's been in decline for a long time.

@dtropolopicus3602 As if they accomplished anything. Propel in Detroit had good jobs back then. Stupidity. Violence never solves anything. How do they like the place now?
