All of those houses must have been lived in at one time with friends and neighbors all around. They've been empty for a long time. This didn't happen overnight.

The auto industry was humming back then and everyone was making money.

Do GM executives from the ivory tower downtown ever drive through these neighborhoods and look at the results of sending the jobs to Mexico? I wondered if things were getting better in Detroit, but it doesn't look like it. It must be scary at night in these hoods. I don't see any street lights. Some of the houses are still kept up and lived in surrounded by all the carnage. It's got to be pretty frightening when the sun goes down. Do the fire hydrants still work?

Do GM, Ford and Chrysler executives ever drive through these neighborhoods and see what the city has come to?

It's already happening in many cities across the country. Charlie Bo313 has lots of hood videos that look almost the same as Detroit: Camden, Newark, Philadelphia, Cleveland, New Orleans and more. But I have to admit, sadly, from what I can tell, Detroit is the urban decay granddaddy of them all.

Hang in there. I hope for your sake better days are coming.

Noble: Yes, once it goes, it's almost impossible to get it back.

And all that rubble has to be disposed of. What a mess. Last year I read an article stating the city is trying to get people still living in the blighted areas to move so they can concentrate people more into specific areas rather than have one or two holdouts in an otherwise deserted neighborhood. I don't know how that's going. I still see kept up homes mixed in with the abandoned ones in these videos.

King: I had hoped things might be getting better in Detroit, but obviously not. It's a travesty.

none of your damn business: Yeah, I kind of figured that. I remember that movie Roger & Me. It's old now, but is still relevant.

I hope they're happy about what they did to Detroit. I don't know if the city can ever be brought back. Right now it doesn't seem to be making much progress.

Damn! East side. West side. What's the difference?
