Steve Bannon has guts. It takes a big man to thank a jury that just convicted him on trumped up charges in a political show trial. He knows he'll win on appeal, but it all costs time, money and emotional wear and tear, which is the government's strategy for discouraging lesser men.

Bannon is apparently one of those patriots whose determination to prevail over injustice is only strengthened by application of that injustice. As for the meaning of what is taking place, if you're a member of the opposition, you're persecuted through the legal system; if your political views align with the regime's, you're not. We're on a crash course with totalitarianism.
