I've felt DeSantis would make a good president even when Trump was still with us. I thought Trump would win a second term, then DeSantis would run, and win, in 2024. We can still have DeSantis is 2024, maybe. Trump at 78 isn't a viable candidate for 2024. His time was 2020 but he was screwed.
