  4. Just to remind folks, that the last Trump government was tougher on Russia than most previous governments.

  5. Trump sanctioned Russia for interference in the 2016 election. He also sanctioned Russia for the annexation of the Crimea.

  6. During the first year of his first presidency Trump approved of the largest sale of defensive weapons to the Ukraine since 2014. And in 2018 approved the sale of more substantial weapons. And in 2019 more aid was sent to the Ukraine. So all of that despite also willing to take an easy line on Russia's involvement in the Ukraine. But the PENTAGON is ultimately in control.
