One place I see where large builders have an advantage is that they typically also can offer title work and home owners insurance. Most contracts I review have disclosures that buyers sign to allow quote for these services. The big ones also typically have in house financing available. With these profit centers, they can often drop prices to market and still remain profitable, often offering pricing well below comparable proximate resales.
