  3. I grew up on U.S. Navy bases stateside and abroad later joining the Air Force for 10 years in 1998. My father missed half of my life participating in everything from Operation Just Cause, Soviets trying to ram my father's ship, Libya (1980s), 1991 Gulf War, tensions with China mid (1990s) humanitarin efforts, blockades in Iraq, 2003 Iraqi Freedom, and a remote tour in Bahrain. My two uncles are retired USN, my cousin is near retirement in the USN, brother-in-law is now retired from the USN, and we have other family that are near retirement. Defending nations in Europe and Asia that refuse to defend themselves has been an American past-time for over 70 years.
