A constitutional republic like the one in the United States practices federalism which is divided power among states and the federal government. Within the federal government there are different branches of governments and rules to make passing laws difficult and to make concentrating power difficult. Even in America's voting process we have the electoral college system which is another check on concentrating power in bigger states. We also have the Constitution which enshrines the Bill of Rights as rights derive from God not from man, and the Constitution limits government power. People trying to call a constitutional republic a democracy are either ignorant or they're playing word games to control the language. I hope this lesson helps! 🇺🇲🦅
