  2. Americans under George Marshall set up all of the logistics in the 1930s for the coming war. Americans led the war and supplied everyone. While Montgomery was bowing out of saving paratroopers at Bastogne Patton stepped up and traveled two days with no sleep and blunted a major offensive from Germans brought over from the Eastern front. Canadians were not running anything but rather served as cannon fodder for tea drinking Brits as all of the colonial troops did.
