  18. The reality is even if Ukraine joined NATO which it didn't, nobody was going to attack Russia. The Russian people also need to do some introspection about their perception in the world, their neighbors do not trust or like them and for very good reason considering the Soviet regime was an evil empire that was once allied with Hitler. The paranoia of Russian leaders is real reason of the conflict. Russians should learn to trade with it's neighbors not wage war, it's that simple.

Russia and Ukraine will be damaged for many decades due to this war and Russia is a pariah state. Russia has now been countered and invaded and Putin has done nothing. Russia has always been a barking Chihuahua wearing a pitbull costume. Who cares if Ukraine lances Russia, Russia has been going against US interests for decades.
