@Psychlist1972 You need to check up on your history. Eisenhower was the allied commander because the Brits were incompetent. Churchill had idiotic ideas like N. Africa and Italy which were all duds. The United States fought in both theaters and bombed Germany in the day while Brits were terrified to do so. Never downplay the American contribution especially our leadership and massive industrial base that shocked Germany and Japan. Brits and other foreigners are always trying to steal valor from Americans.

The Brits had incompetent generals and FDR was too easy on the Brits politically. Actually research the disasters of the British army getting their ass kicked everywhere. Hell even in the Battle of Britain their air force was nearly destroyed and their citizens took bombings due to ineptness. As for Russia they were dying and retreating so much their officers had to shoot them in the back. Poor German logistics, American bombing of Germany, and Lend Lease saved their asses unfortunately.
