  1. One thing missing with modern parents is teachable moments. There are plenty of times children are acting out and embarrassing themselves and the parent is just starring unwilling to engage and the worst parents use excuses when confronted with their child's horrible behavior.

  2. In 1990 when I was 10 years old in Norfolk, VA I threw down an empty Pepsi cup onto the grass in a park. My father smacked me across the face in a chopping motion snd said, "Pick that up and put that in the trash can, our family isn't trailer trash!". With my embarrassment and teary eyes I threw the cup in the trash can and a few adults were smiling and knodding there heads. I haven't littered sense.
