  1. I remember these tensions 1996. I was living in Japan on Yokosuka naval base in 1996 and my father's ship the USS O'Brien (Spruance class destroyer) headed to Taiwan as a show of force to China complete with war games.

  2. I am former USAF and my personal observation is the US is generally weak in a show of force. Our enemies should be worried about what we are going to do them not us worried about what they will do to us.
