The USA does not need to lean on other nations, quite the opposite. Many "allied" nations participate with the USA because of their own interests strategically, economically, and politically. Many "allies" are actually a hinder to the USA as many nations have neglected their logistics capability forcing the United States to carry their equipment and troops around for them.

Saddam's Republic Guard was defeated in a few weeks and Baghdad was captured with Saddam in hiding. Saddam's Baathists "Islamic Socialists" dropped their uniforms for partisan warfare. Later on Syria and Iran were funding Islamic radicals from every corner of the world including Western nations and China to fight in Iraq where they killed thousands of Iraqi civilians. This is why they were called "insurgents" the real foreign invaders to Iraq.

You are intentionally blurring the War on Terror insurgency with the Republic Guard being whipped in every battle up against U.S. forces. The United States is the current masters of logistics and the master of the battlefield. Any nation fighting the United States on an open battlefield in 2022 is deadmeat period.

His confirmation bias has blinded him to the fact that Iraq had internal conflicts with Shite vs Sunni and that was amplified by the efforts of Iran and Syria funding foreign insurgents into Iraq which primarily took over Iraqi towns on the borders and killed civlians. This guy is so un-informed he actually thinks the Iraqi's were unified in resistance like the movie Braveheart. This is far from the truth.

China is ramping up it's "improvement" through theft of American and European military technology. China is easily defeated by simply refusing to trade with that nation which is a future reality. Dictatorships don't last.

Your potato seems to hurt. If you are smart you will use drones in conjuction with aircraft that can actually carry serious payloads and wipe away the enemy's airforce. The Russians were unable to do that after all of these months.
