Delta wing isn't cutting edge 😂. It's an old design that is a cost cutting strategy at the factory. A conventional wing with strakes and leading edge flaps has already been shown to be superior. Let's see if the UK goes "cutting edge" 1950s Delta wing design for their joint project from Japan that Lockheed will probably be contracted to produce 😂

 @SRanade France is part of NATO, what are you talking about? Macron was ordered by Trump to start paying 2% which led to more funding by France's government. Americans have been protecting Europe for decades but now it's time for Euros to stop running their mouths and start serving in the military. Hiding behind 1.2mil American troops at 700+bil annually is nearly over. I encourage every foreigner that talks smack about the US to join it's local military and let's see how you "tough" guys do 😂😂

I served in the USAF for 10 years from 1999-2009 protecting Europe and Asia which can't protect itself. Feel free to step up and show us how it's done (ally) 😂😂.

The F-35A is 50mil each, no aircraft can compete with its price. The Rafale costs much more and only countries buying the Rafale don't qualify to buy the F-35A 😂

 @camaradeKC They both work altogether mission capable rates have fallen considerably as have the rest of the USAF due to the Democrats forcing the USAF to lower standards to take fatties and gay types in.

 @camaradeKC USAF Budget Overviews Fiscal Year 2023 supporting documents state the USAF is purchasing 48 F-35As per year at just slightly over $50mil each fly away cost. The GAO shows the F-35A dropped in maintenance costs from $25000 in 2013 to $5000 in 2020 although other costs for 2020 add up to $40,000 per flight hour. The F-16 is shown at $9000 maintenance cost per hour and up to $27,000 after "other" costs are added. $160mil? The F-35A was initially purchased at $140mil starting in 2013. All of these fake numbers on the internet are a mixture of EU protectionism and America haters like Russians. The USAF and GAO are very clear on the costs. All of these documents are found at the GAO and USAF Budget Overview Site under "supporting documents procurement".

 @camaradeKC F-35A, not a chance. They were not even that high in 2013. Even the F-35B stayed at 145mil each for years while the F-35A fell to 115mil in a few short years. For some years the A model was 85mil each being bought by the USAF at 48 each year. Even the new F-15EX which 2 have arrived at Eglin AFB 3 days ago are not even $140mil each and it's backed with my modern technology like the F-35A is. These government documents are available to the public and fairly easy to locate.

 @camaradeKC Yeah I don't know what deal they made. I know Switzerland were using very old F-5s and wanted the new NATO F-35A. Hopefully they did not pay that much lol.

 @virgilius7036 Correct!

The Rafale is a legacy airframe that started in 1985. It's old but not nearly as crippled as the Typhoon which still has airframes running around with a mechanical radar and lacking in air to ground ability as many have not been upgraded and stupidly it was never built to be multi-role. The Rafale's saving grace is that it has a naval version and was built for multi-role missions.

You mean like when France started spending billions more in defense spending when President Trump ordered NATO to spend their agreed 2% of GDP? Or when Trump ordered France to not sell helicopter carriers to Russia? 😂
1
 @linh811 Yet he ordered France to increase spending and it has been done.

That is because you are too uneducated and lazy to actually read USAF Budget Overviews or GAO reports which are free to the public via .PDF. At $50mil fly away cost each for Fiscal year 2024 no other aircraft can come close in price to performance. You may want to check on foreign state media and your own confirmation bias because right now you sound like a Russian agent or a crony European Union protectionist.

 @paul-jr4kc The F-35A is an aggressive project and a technological marvel at it's currently $50mil each fly away costs as if FY2024 USAF Budget Overviews and procurement data. EU protectionism and Russian propaganda have lost.

Egypt is a terrorist state and terrorists are not allowed F-35s 😂

No reason to replace an F-16 with a Rafale 😂. The F-16 has many upgrade packages using borrowed technology from the F-35A. Any country replacing an F-16 with another legacy fighter the leaders need to be investigated and charged for cronyism.
1
 @nuclearwarhead9338 The F-16 is a far more proven airframe with current block upgrades incorporating some of the same technology as the F-35A. The Rafale is a legacy aircraft with no access to such advanced technology.

 @mitch075fr You mean the Greek F-16 that intercepted the Turkish F-16? Next time conduct actual research 😂
