Ships? No. The AC-130 cannot survive in contested airspace just like the A-10 cannot. Aircraft like the F-15, F-22, and F-16 must establish air dominance for anything like an AC-130 or A-10 can survive which is why the A-10 is also useless as there are no more Soviet tanks to fight in Germany.

The Apache is wanted, the A-10 is a political creature that the USAF does not want and has showed stats to the Senate Arms Committee year after year but corrupt politicians with their media allies keep the public stupid about this aircraft. The F-16, F-15E, and B-1 conducted far more air support missions than the A-10 could ever dream of during the War on Terror.

@BonesTheCat Plenty of times sustaining lots of damage. The USAF doesn't need nor want a one trick pony aircraft when it has a superior platform such as the AC-130U model and the army maintains artillery and attack helicopters. Even the B-52 can loiter for hours dropping JDAMS.

@BonesTheCat It has taken significant damage enough to send it to the boneyard more than once since 1991. It relies on F-16s, and F-15s to clear the airspace which makes it a redundancy and nothing the USAF wants. The only people who want it are corrupt politicians using the military as a jobs program for their constituents and their allies constituents and ignorant people such as civilians in the media. The USAF has all of the data and shows the A-10 being obsolete for 20 years. This is intelligence/statistics versus corruption and WWE self-educating opinion types. This isn't even a debate, the A-10 is obsolete.

@BonesTheCat The average "grunt" has an ASVAB score of 35-50, far under the standards of the USAF. A 20 year old "grunt" doesn't collect data and isn't even old enough to drink let alone make many informed decisions. You have not done the research with the USAF Budget Overviews nor have you read the gross costs on the procurement data. You are simply a fan easily convinced by "brrrrrt" comments and are a pretender to actual knowledge hence allow corruption to exist in our government. You are probably the end a supporter of the corrupt KC-46 the USAF never chose or even completely unaware(most likely).

The A-10 is a political creature and you are too dumb and lazy to even research the stats the USAF presents in it's Budget Overview and Senate Arms Committee hearings. You have allowed corrupt politicians primarily from Arizona to force an aircraft like the A-10 onto the USAF as a jobs program regardless of it's inferior performance to the F-16, F-15E, and B-1 during the War on Terror. Never let Congress create an aircraft! Another abomination is the KC-46, Boeing corruption anyone?!

@astra6485 The F-16 has superior air support stats than the A-10 as does the F-15E and B-1. A lot of dopes watching media and movies think the A-10 is superior when I have seen the actual statistics in Senate Arms Committees and the USAF's own Budget Overviews. All of this information is available to the public but then again much of the public are complete ignorant dopes!
