Special Ops are much easier to execute than a full blown war.

@peterebel7899 Logistics and maintenance of vehicles is required for a "special military operation". Special Ops groups have way more autonomy and usually a different chain of command.

@peterebel7899 You are nuts. A few marines? They had a force of 15-30K troops moving down towards Kyiv. It's pretty easy to evade things in water as the Swedes showed. People underestimate how big a body of water is and how few ships there are. A few years ago, during a large-scale naval exercise off the coast of California, a small Swedish diesel submarine sent shockwaves through the maritime world by ‘sinking’ in a wargame one of the most advanced warships in the globe: a U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.
