  1. Here’s the problem: there are no “rules” you can set to make entertainment people exempt. It’s clearly subjective. I think Korean Americans are more proud of BTS than native Koreans due to their worldwide impact. Yes, there are exemptions for sports, but that’s something easily defined and to a degree, they are representing their country for no pay. A bit more nationalist than the entertainment business.

  2. @D. Va They get (relatively small) stipends for playing for the national team. Athletes get exemptions for winning in international competition, not with their club teams. This is pretty standard for all international athletes.
