  1. The US would have easily forwarded a few million doses of Paxlovid if they asked. But, Xi has to save face. It's a shame. And, all of this will be swept under the rug with a "covid defeated" proclamation. Thousands if not hundred of thousands of lives could be saved.

  2. You realize the vaccines were optimized for the earlier strains and are effective with delta. Literally skipping over the playbook: restrictions until Vaccine. Vaccine everyone. Open up. Evaluate and pivot from there. I don't think you understand what an ICU bed is. You can't fabricate them out of thin air. Let's say you have all the extra equipment (which is unlikely). You know what ICUs need? Doctors and nurses.
