  1. It’s a bit odd since the yuan doesn’t free float. And, they set the on-shore rate. And, they have massive capital controls. And, State Banks aren’t independent and have to follow government edicts. Not sure why they need to defend.

  3.  @DavidCooper-bn6te  My point isn't if it should be allowed or not allowed. There are already mechanisms in place to minimize the need of defending the yuan. It's a moot and somewhat overblown point. This isn't like Soros breaking the Bank of England.
