Churchill's political career is pretty interesting since he started in the early 1900s. Shigeru Yoshida laid the groundwork for Japan to become an industrialized nation post WW2. The Yoshida Doctrine is still a part of Japanese geopolitics in present day. Konrad Adenauer was the opposition to "that party" in power during WW2 and was Chancellor for Germany post-WW2 for 15 years.
