You must not speak Korean. Korean people can be very direct.

Get real dude. You’ve got some real bias and issues. He’s only been President for 1 term. The issues you are talking about aren’t issues that popped up just 4 years ago.

The reality is certain industry sectors are screwed until this is over. Travel, restaurants, bars / clubs.

Not in Korea. Seoul is Korea. Half of the population lives in Seoul + surrounding areas.

11:12 I can now experience what Koreans people do to me, "man, her eyes are small". I think she's the one Korean person I've seen with smaller eyes than me. Korean peeps always tell me I have really small eyes. I'm like geez, I've been getting this my whole life from white people and now my own people too?!? (it doesn't bother me anymore though vs when I was younger.)

@tomkang9272 Don't visit Daegu in the summer. It's in the valley in the middle of the country. No breeze and extremely humid. Winters can be a bit cold as well. Would be hard, but shoot for Spring / Fall.

Yes, but very few. I've seen adoptees with mixed families (1 white / 1 Asian). I think there are a few Asian families that are YouTube people that adopted more recently.

It's ok. It's pretty natural to feel that way as an adoptee. Just focus on yourself, your happiness and self-confidence. I was really uncomfortable with my identity until after high school. Then, I started taking risks and interacting with different people. It's never a perfect fit, but that's ok too. My first interaction with Koreans after high school was fobby ones from my Japanese class. We went out a few times and it was a disaster due to the language barrier.

One of the few KADs that married a Korean. I'm assuming your first name is Kylee. It could be worse. I know someone who was Kim Kim after she married a Korean. I used to tease her.

lol, with the CCP? They only want to steal things because they can't sustain their economy on their own + they are d***s.
1
That's a whole different rabbit hole. And, it's way more controversial.

7:37 You can hear his accent clearly (even though I'm really bad at Korean). Her English accent is odd as well. Guess I'm used to hearing my cousin's bad English.

I have no issues with this except it seems very ineffective to control the problem.
1
You can live in Korea without being a Korean citizen. Man, people are weird.
1
lol, pretty comical. "Hey! What is this kid going to do for me?"

The British did not have the foresight to make a longer lease deal. Fatal mistake.

Many adoptees aren't sure how to interact with other Koreans because they were raised basically white. I started hanging out with Koreans after high school. Both fobs and Korean Americans. I even worked in a Korean restaurant during college.

I think the host is just as judgemental. She has no standing to tell the Korean people any standards in society. IT’S THEIR SOCIETY, not yours. Fucking western people.

MN, the land of 10,000 adoptees.

@gregschneberger2474 That's tough getting adopted at that age. But, likely it's somewhat of a benefit as an adult since I'm assuming you speak Korean. My family (adoptive) was great. Other than being a little on the poor side (not really poor, but lower middle class). My parents were extremely open to stuff except we lived in a suburb that was inconvenient to meet other Korean people. I met some Korean friends in 6th grade, but they lived over 30 mins away. I think there was a Korean school, but that was also 30+ min away. Both my parents worked and it would have been a hassle to drive me everywhere. My limitations were my immediate suburb. It just wasn't diverse and generally felt pigeonholed. More of my own mental block than other people stereotyping me. Even though I was interacting with white people in my summer job when I was 15-16, it felt different because they were from other parts of the city. Eventually at 18, I had a part-time job in the city (East Coast) and I met even more different people. Some Asian, some black. College really freed my mind up and eventually transferred to the West Coast and stopped worrying about my race / ethnicity in a negative manner.

Yeah, it's called Congress. There is a bill that hasn't passed. Adoptees should have been granted automatic citizenship.
1
Still might be traumatic and underlying issues, but it will be an easier conversation as they get older.

@jiminswriter4209 Relax. Can't be rational with the irrational. He's a tough macho Cuban man.
1
Dude - sure sounds like you are saying that 200,000 individuals should think and feel exactly like yourself. That's quite odd.

My parents were very liberal. Raised Catholic and then they let us decide to continue when we turned 15.
