Fiji - yes, older sister, but used by a female for a female older than you.

Shit way different these days. Stuff I had growing up was always clean. So many drugs are tainted now.

Took a while for me to process, but she lacked “street” smarts. It’s something that you learn a lot more as a kid in the US than in Korea. Korea is a pretty “safe” environment relative to the US. Just wasn’t prepared how to deal with the craziness in America. (Yes, many people in the US lack “street” smarts as well.)

uhh, she moved here when she was 18 / 19. And, very unprepared to deal with the cultural differences in America.

Did pot, LSD, X, coke as a teen. But, one of our friends, got very sidetracked with her addict sister and got addicted to crack. Was a really sad sight. Made me never want to try it. Also, oddly our prevent drug class in high school made me not do the really hard stuff. Saw a video of someone hooked on PCP. Never like pot much, but would smoke with friends. Did Coke and X pretty frequently, but never was addicted to it.

Jason - agree. At some point, you have to make the choice to settle down and live a normal life. Going to Skid Row and buying crack ain’t a normal life. She knew what she was doing was wrong and dangerous.

She came when she was 18 / 19. Oddly, this is the worst possible scenario. At least with kids / young teens, you are a bit more malleable to cultural changes. As an adult, your values are a bit more set. This middle ground seems to be tricky.

Technically, you are the 1.5 generation. Most of my Korean friends are / were 1.5.

It’s very normal for Korean kids to live with their parents until they get married.

And, it’s very confusing. You never handover coke to a newbie and say take it. Doing lines with someone is actually a bit social.
