@stefanoraffo5096 2/3 of the imports are from Canada and Mexico. Saudi is around 7%. Iraq and Columbia around 4%. The rest is scattered small amounts.

One of the oil CEOs thinks they can get to 15.5mn bpd vs the current 13.3mn bpd in the next 5 years.

I'm pretty centrist. Generally support Israel, but they better not escalate this. Starting to feel like Bibi is just trying to hold onto power rather than making sane decisions.

If you look at RU Moscow defenses, it's a greater than 50% chance. Didn't see any heavy equipment. Just police and national guard with rifles. Didn't see any ATGMs either. They are severely outgunned. Wagner is transporting tanks and BTRs.

@raider968 Didn't see any arty. Looks like its all in Ukraine. They do have extensive air resources, but sounds like 6 choppers already shot down today. Wagner has anti-air defenses.

@maritaschweizer1117 The EIA tracks it. It has to do with refining and the different types of oil. Generally speaking, the US has light sweet crude. Not so much the sour and the heavy.

@suspicionofdeceit Welcome to war. Always a battle of attrition.

UA has been training in modern tactics for nearly a decade. They are a superior fighting force. Russia has the manpower and equipment advantage.

(not great for Ukraine) Coup is over. Prigozhin sent out an audio message. "They were going to dismantle PMC Wagner. We came out on 23 June to the March of Justice. In a day, we walked to nearly 200km away from Moscow. In this time, we did not spill a single drop of blood of our fighters. Now, the moment has come when blood may spill. That’s why, understanding the responsibility for spilling Russian blood on one of the sides, we are turning back our convoys and going back to field camps according to the plan."

Translation: we have a shitload. The 2005 report: The report details a stockpile of 5.5 million cluster munitions containing about 728.5 million submunitions.10 This figure, however, does not appear to be a full accounting of cluster munitions available to U.S. forces. In particular, the tally does not include cluster munitions that are part of the War Reserve Stocks for Allies (WRSA). Cluster munitions are particularly ubiquitous in the stores of U.S. ground forces. According to the DoD report, the Army has about 638.3 million cluster submunitions (88 percent of the total inventory) and the Marine Corps has about 53.3 million (7 percent). The report states, “Cannon and rocket artillery cluster munitions comprise over 80% of Army fire support capability,”13 and they “comprise the bulk of the Marine Corps artillery munitions.”

@lostbutfreesoul No more 155mm shells left. Its either these or nothing.

Literally, they are using their citizens to deplete Ukraine’s munitions.

4th Guards Tank Division which is Moscow based is in Ukraine. Not that crazy.
1
@narannavan umm, I'm American. We went a bit overboard after 9-11 as well. I get it (to an extent). Also, all these lefties wouldn't be so pro-Palestine if Hamas controlled the territory near their city. Geopolitical NIMBY.

He offered a ceasefire, lol. UA has to give up the stolen land. And, no joining NATO.

@shadowkiller9033 Shale oil isn't really a type of oil. Shale is the oil field. I'd send you a link to the EIA site, but YouTube doesn't allow it. Oil is graded by (1) sulfur content (sweet <1% or sour >1%) and (2) API gravity which is the inverse of the petroleum liquid's density relative to water (heavy density <25 degrees API to light density >35 degrees API). Generally speaking, the US has a lot of light sweet.

Generally, central banks try to get the interest rate somewhat north of the inflation rate. It means they have inflation around 20% rather than the official 9.5%. Obviously, the inflation is a made up number they pushed to sub-10% for psychological reasons ie it's not double digits!

Not a military strategist, but not sure why Putin didn't immediately transfer RU soldiers from Ukraine to Moscow.
1
Way too rational and well thought out from a peasant point of view. I go with the Putin is a thug theory. Grab as much shit as possible. Keep laying the groundwork and infiltrate countries. Then, attack when weak.

We are only producing 14K 155mm shells per month. Going to 24K by end of '23. That's tiny. lol, 85K by 2028. That's how bad our supply chain is. (just terrible. They should have been speeding up production last year.)
1
ATACMS are getting phased out. And, we have very few of them. US military is very conservative and will keep some in stock.
1
It's why the FBI was placed under Treasury. They were focused on tracking money and white collar crime. Still a big part of the Treasury department's responsibility.
1
So basically, Putin traded for 20% of Ukraine and lost his port / airbase in Syria, Armenia influence and TBD on Moldova / Georgia.
1
With all the Russian yapping about NATO, Putin underestimated the NATO training. And, Putin waited too long. The fighting in Eastern Ukraine allowed the UA military to transition western military doctrine.
1
It's literally his voice.
1
Would be an amazing party favor gift if “somehow” Xi and Putin were out of office by the time Biden leaves,
1
We in the US are very fortunate to be isolated.

It's dollar. It's barrel. Nothing has to adjust.
