@stefanoraffo5096 2/3 of the imports are from Canada and Mexico. Saudi is around 7%. Iraq and Columbia around 4%. The rest is scattered small amounts.

@maritaschweizer1117 The EIA tracks it. It has to do with refining and the different types of oil. Generally speaking, the US has light sweet crude. Not so much the sour and the heavy.

@shadowkiller9033 Shale oil isn't really a type of oil. Shale is the oil field. I'd send you a link to the EIA site, but YouTube doesn't allow it. Oil is graded by (1) sulfur content (sweet <1% or sour >1%) and (2) API gravity which is the inverse of the petroleum liquid's density relative to water (heavy density <25 degrees API to light density >35 degrees API). Generally speaking, the US has a lot of light sweet.
