  1. The odd part is Korea really f'd up the English skills part. Everyone learns it from elementary school, but no one is actually fluent. All my cousins in Korea can barely speak English. Can't make a global presence without English speaking workers. I'm pretty sure this is why Korean firms don't tap US markets for capital (stock market). You need a ton more English proficient workers to do this. (Kpop is more the exception since the founders lived in the States.)
