  1. A few people proposed it decades ago, but Korea should make English a 2nd official language. Obviously, it won't help the population become fluent, but it would (over time) change the administration process to be more friendly to foreigners. It's one of the biggest reasons that corporations are hesitant to relocate to Korea. Hmm, I've looked at this data. Thought it was closer to 2.5M foreigners. Guess the source was bad. According to ministry data, the number of foreign residents in the country surpassed 2.5 million last year, including those staying here illegally. Not sure of why there is a discrepancy. I predict it will double over the next 20 years (whatever the number is).
