  1. Gotta be something behind the scenes. They were profitable after 2 years. Groups making money usually try to extend for an extra few years. And the last album sold decent.

  2.  @fjp9  Actually, no. Idols are like sports athletes. They have a very limited earning period and need to maximize their earnings when they are popular. Only a few will get extended successful careers. Maybe 20%. You have younger talented girls that will easily take their position. Solo female artist? That's the hardest gig in Korea. Acting? Good luck. That's even more competitive than the idol business.
