  1. The word “fan” most likely derived its origin from fanatic. And the word fanatic comes from the Latin word, fanaticus, which original meant zealous religious people inspired by a god and then shifted towards excessively enthusiastic. (I took Latin in high school to help with the SATs.. didn’t really help much. Just google stuff now.)
