  1. umm, English is used for every airport control tower. There are probably some exceptions with domestic flights. This was a Chinese airline though.

  2. Korean Air had a ton of incidents in the distant past due to pilots struggles with English and the hierarchical system. Malcolm Gladwell documented this in one of his books. (Although Gladwell's reasonings have been refuted a bit.)
