They just debuted. This will kill the industry if they let people out of their contracts after a year. Loona's was 5-7 years. Exo was about China activities.

@ronc9413 Again, like I said, it will destroy the industry. 50-50 agency spent $6M on their debut. So, the members can leave and reap all the benefits? That is industry killing. How an industry survive when any investment can be lost by people dissolving a written contract?

@ronc9413 Disagree with what facts? It costs around $100K per year per trainee in the big companies. Putting an album out costs $1-2M out for a debut. Not all trainees debut and are a sunk cost. Obviously, you've thought about this very little from a numerical perspective. Kpop is basically like MLB (baseball). You have a ton of possibles that you pay for and need to have cost control for their first 7 years to break even / make a profit. Let's say you have a 5 per group that only trained for 4 years. That's $2M that you need to make back just to break even for them. That doesn't count the other people that never debuted. Sounds like you don't understand how Kpop companies operate.

@ronc9413 Dude - you are describing a fictitious industry. Not the Kpop industry as presently constructed. (Stay on topic. The video is about a group trying to break a contract after 1 year.) Edit: I worked in the restaurant industry from age 13 to late 20s. It's a horrible and inaccurate analogy.

@ronc9413 Agencies are the ones putting up all the money. Of course they can stop spending if they are losing money. If that's the case, members should be able to get out of their exclusive contract. Not applicable with 50-50 or even close to what is happening. Just take the "L" on this and move on. More info has come out which...exactly supports what I'm saying.
