@karenstraborvsky5235 People tend to assume things work the same where they live. In the US, people don't grow large crops without having a contract. (or they use a middle person system.) The smaller farmers are usually the more organic ones that sell for higher prices possibly in markets. It's obvious that things work different in CCP China.

The meat makes sense because people are cutting back on the budgets. No idea about the vegetables. More people have died than having babies, but it shouldn't be that sudden. Could just be poor planning.

umm, you realize that egg rolls are an American dish right? (Being pedantic. The name would be spring roll for China / SE Asia.)

@novat9731 Psst, or in the US's case, you import cheap "illegal" labor. And then bitch about illegal labor while eating "cheaper" food processed and picked by illegal labor.

@PositronicDiscombobulator What I've realized is...for a supposedly planned economy, the CCP does a horrible job at planning. Probably running into the dangers of mixing the bad parts of capitalism and dictatorship / socialism (whatever hell system they have). They have a millions of government officials that do nothing when they should be advising the farmers.
