  1. It’s funny how different economies are. My Dad taught middle school English for 30 years. He had 2 Master’s degrees. After retiring from teaching, he was an editor at a publishing company. Perfect job to take advantage of his skill set. His boss was decades younger.

  2. I will re-up my past comment. Unemployment in the US peaked at 25% during the Great Depression in the 1930s. No way is it at 50%.

  3.  @palvierflex4344  The economy is much different these days, but I read Grapes of Wrath when I was a teenager. And, that's at 25% unemployment. 50% unemployment is cataclysmic and basically everyone would be zombies.
