Samsung saw the writing on the wall much earlier. They started to move their productions in the early 2010s.

Has nothing to do with cheapness of the product, but taking advantage of lower market wages of different countries. Quality of the product is a corporate decision not a location of manufacturing decision.

If there are 100K workers, that's only 2 per meal. Western countries stopped doing the dorm / company meals ages ago. The closest comparison you can find is sporting events ie some of the American football stadiums have 100K attendance.

@deftones8717 lol, a lot. They measure it in metric tons. China is tops around 400 eggs per capita per year (using weight assumptions). That's 560 billion eggs.

@stevens1041 Naw, you are mixing up timelines. Samsung started to invest in Vietnam back in '08. It was a pure numbers game. Could only find the '13 numbers: The base monthly salary for a factory worker in Beijing was US$466 last year, compared with US$145 in Hanoi

Lots of data / evidence out there with US cities when manufacturing leaves. Lots of evidence out there with Japan what happens with a severe RE bubble. This is what happens when 1 uneducated person helms the country and is a zealot.

@Ragpicker-y2g China. Korea (South) has a modest presence in Africa. EU...may have some historical problems to prevent it from getting along with Africa.

@RUHappyATM I eat about 2 dozen eggs per week. Deviled eggs are a pretty good snack and keep reasonably well in the fridge. Fried egg sandwich with cheese on toast. Classic scrambled. And, just plain hard boiled with some salt and pepper. But, that's my diet. Chinese food has eggs in a lot of different dishes.

@RUHappyATM Eggs is usually just 1 meal a day. But, that's the beauty of eggs. It's extremely easy and fast to make. Hard boiled eggs takes 10-15 min and you can leave them in the fridge. Scrambled eggs takes 1 min. Fried egg sandwich is <5 min. It's hard to get tired of eggs since there are other easy dishes too. Fried rice and use 2-3 eggs. Some Korean dishes can be topped with eggs. I eat Korean ramen and dipped fried eggs into the soup.
