  1. This makes no sense. In the US, you have to pay the custodian for storage. You don't want to make interest on your gold. You want safe keeping. Obviously, the company was using the gold as collateral and taking out loans. That's why they are paying yield. Chinese people have no common sense.

  4. Costco sells gold and a lot of it. I'd feel ok buying gold from Costco. Weirdly, there is a trust factor with them over some Mom and Pop shop.

  5.  @lindadeeds5326  Just pure greed. Decision was made to invest in a physical asset. The most important thing is making sure that physical asset is safe and making a few bps in interest means nothing.
