  2.  @edwardfletcher7790  Dude - you serious? You think militaries send in random troops for peacekeeping missions. Just look at US history. US sent Marines into Haiti. And, Somalia. You send some of your better troops because it's an international mission. Somalia is a good example even though it was direct action against Americans. The Chinese were the sideshow in Sudan.

  3.  @edwardfletcher7790  Btw, you think the invasion of Taiwan is going to be some structured event? There will be 10,000 fishing boats transporting squads at a time. They aren't going to put 5000 soldiers on a boat transport across the Strait. (or they gain air superiority and do a drop in)

  4.  @Liberty_or_Ded  lol, you think Normandy and other landing areas were accessible beaches? The porcupine strategy is a delay tactic. Only works for so long. (We had 10,000+ casualties in the Normandy landing. Looks like x15 for gaining back all of France.)

  5.  @mr.metallic5310  Dude - you have to realize that CCP China ain't like the West. It's all state owned businesses. Depending on the data, they have 500,000 fishing boats already. They have a fleet of them which are military vessels disguised as finishing boats. Just google "Chinese fishing boats Philippines". It's a lot easier to plan this in autocratic countries.

  8. Basically, it would be a Normandy style type landing in Taiwan. CCP would be using every possible vessel to transport troops to storm the island. We will see if Taiwan can hold them off until allies arrive from by sea / air.

  9.  @Liberty_or_Ded  I think you are overestimating Taiwan anti-ship missile tech + underestimating CCP China's jamming capabilities. I'm no mil-blogger, but it really comes down to numbers and execution to stop the first wave. CCP is going to use every "fishing boat" in their arsenal to get troops over.
