There was a survey done a few years ago across advanced economic nations. Korea (ROK) had the worst opinion on China by far of all countries.

Actually, Samsung started to moving out of China way before THAAD. Lotte was semi-forced to lease the land for the THAAD installation. Chinese government started to come up with fake store violations. Basically, stopping their ability to do business. Ironically, they got to sell out before the economy collapsed. Probably got a better return by selling out early. The big hit was to the TV industry. Chinese companies were paying relatively big money for productions. It nearly collapsed the industry. But, a funny thing happened. This "small" company in the US called Netflix started to dip their toes into the Korean market. The cost of TV rights was tiny compared to US productions, so it was a relatively risk free bet. Now, even the low end TV shows are getting 4x what the Chinese were paying back then. The bigger productions are getting 7x. Generally, the same happened to the Kpop industry. They never could break into the western market and it basically forced them to figure out a way.
