That's not how the stock market works. For example: if an individual stock price falls, it means there are more sellers than buyers and the market maker has to lower the bid price. It will continually adjust the price to meet the share demand. There is no transfer of money. The price is purely based off supply and demand of the market. That's why in normal markets ie the US, high volume days usually represent negative days. Even a reasonably up trend, the volume doesn't spike to the highs.

@Serahpin lol, you are wrong. Dead wrong. Price is driven by the people that are selling, but EVERYONE ISN'T SELLING. Let's say Seraphin owns 900 shares. I own 100 shares. There are only 1000 shares total outstanding. If I dump my shares and drive the price down 10%, Seraphin's share value went down 10%. Seraphin did not sell his shares. I drove the price down and Seraphin's shares got revalued by supply and demand of the people selling.

@Serahpin Again, FALSE. It's called paper profits for a reason.

@Serahpin You really have no clue about the stock market. lol, you've never seen a flash price drop before in the market or an individual stock to understand the mechanics. Let me guess, you don't have a degree in Finance. Not only are your punching above your weight in Finance, you don't remember the original comment. The people haven't sold yet and have paper profit / losses. Again, it's not in anyone's pocket. A small % trades can control the price of the market / individual stock. The money is not gone, it is just in another pocket

@Serahpin lol, do you even trade stocks? Again, you don't have a degree in Finance. You don't know what you are talking about. An online expert with no life experience telling people wrong information. Go ask your broker to explain to you what I wrote.

@Serahpin Great. My Finance professor was the guy that advised the Thai government how to setup up their capital markets in the 1970s and this Serahphin dude is trying to "edjumacate" me on how the markets work.

@Serahpin The funny part is I know exactly what you are trying to "explain", but it's not applicable here.

@Serahpin The dude is saying there is a direct transfer of wealth from the new buyers (who lost money) and into the pockets of the old sellers (who sold at the top). And, I'm saying that's not how the markets work except for 1 long term scenario. And, this isn't that scenario. lol, CAT opened up down 2% this morning with zero shares traded. The MM slammed the bid lower due to a downgrade. Yes, 2% vaporized without any shares trading hands.
