Dumb question: do Chinese students not do internships? Graduated a while ago, but even I started thinking about my future in my junior year. Quit my restaurant part time job and took worst paying research position in the finance department at college. Ended up parlaying into a job with a local CFP for summer + senior year.

@negi9076 Dude - people do internships while they are in college. It's getting real world experience while the company pays you peanuts. Also, it level sets your expectations and generally how you fit into the workplace. And, it helps you get hired before you graduate.

@negi9076 lol, yeah. Doesn't sound like they have the same setup. We would bring in interns occasionally in the office, but it was a lot of work for the current staff. Typically, we would put in more than we'd get out. But, we did hire a few people. But, we paid them pretty fairly. Slightly below entry level full time salary. (Man, brings back memories. Forgot that I did a few presentations / workshops with my cross functional partner at a college.)
