  1. Well, now it makes more sense. Spurlock had just turned 26 and was a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, joining in 2016 according to his mother. He also reportedly suffered from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries and retired medically from service. He was the father of three, the oldest being five.

  2.  @ChrisB-xw7un  Naw, post-2016, the 82nd was still getting to deployed to Iraq / Syria and Afghanistan. Just in way lower numbers.

  4. Actually, the dude had 3 kids though. Looks like he signed up at 18 for the service. Then, proceeded to have 3 kids starting at the age of 21. Was medically retired from the service and I'm guessing split from his wife / baby momma.

  5.  @ChrisB-xw7un  I had no conclusions about the guy except obviously he had issues. Dude joined the service right after high school. Got medically exempted out AND had 3 kids + this weird chick. That's a lot of stress and not a great mental state. Just explains that he wasn't in a good spot in life. My brother joined the service when he was 19. But, he just focused on his military career. Didn't get married and have kids until mid-late 20s.

  6.  @johnfranktullo3463  We spend $370B a year on veterans. We are spending money in UA, so we don't have to deploy soldiers in the future and have more issues post-deployment. Spending money is better than deploying troops to active battle zones.

  9.  @carolynking1625  That's the point. His kids are with his ex-baby momma. He's being hooking up with purple hair chick for the past 9 months. Dude turned 25 and is split from his ex with 3 kids and paying child support. Yikes.

  11.  @montezuma6962  Hey! I take offense to that. I dated someone when I was 20 that had purple hair and a nose ring. Although, her hair was more tinted than bright. And, her nose ring was small. She was a genuinely nice person.

  15.  @mar1video  Tried to look up the cop's age and experience. Not public yet. You really think normal beat cops have experience in hostage type negotiation. Wyoming Police academy is a whopping 3 months.

  17.  @jonjon9490  Good info. I was searching for his service record and only found that he topped out as Sgt. The funny thing is for me, I wasn't even considering the military stuff as stress. The shocking part was the 3 kids and separated from his babies momma at the age of 25. And then immediately, shacking up with purple hair chick. (I passed over the PTSD stuff because my brother saw a lot of bad stuff. His groomsman / military buddy was a high profile case that everyone knows. But, he never talked about it. I never asked. All classified stuff. He was pretty damaged physically at the end of his 20 years. Mentally, not too bad.)
