Congrats. We all have differing experiences in life.

Grew up on an East Coast city. It was way worse back then and there. I was the only Asian in my suburb town and my (white) friends always stuck up for me. After high school, I hung out in the city more. But, I was growing my hair long and people never screwed around me with. Stereotypes work sometimes and people just assumed I knew martial arts (which I didn't). Never been to San Ramon, but seems like its heavily populated with Asians. In all the years living in SF, no one ever said anything about my race.

Naw, we can be real shitheads as well. And, many Koreans have extreme biases and can be racist as heck.

@GodsLoveBeWithYou No, they cover the news. What topics they show on the news...drum roll...is always going to have a sensationalist aspect to it. You really think CNN covers the weather 24-7 when its sunny or when there is a huge hurricane? Please share what news topics they should show to pay the bills. Are you like 20 or something?

@GodsLoveBeWithYou Good luck in life dude.

Ok, white dude who might have some "Mexican" in them. It's means they have been living in America and consider themselves as an American. It differentiates from someone who grew up in Korea and still considers themselves as a Korean citizen. You really never heard of someone saying they are American of Italian descent? Or Irish American?

Dunno dude. That's pretty low on the scale. Even if I were alone, I wouldn't call the cops.

Disagree. It’s taught / learned. As an Asian adopted by a white family, I had a lot of strong black influences in my life. My Dad was a teacher and the principal was a black female. And, so was one of the secretaries. We had a part-time housekeeper (have no idea how we afforded since we were not wealthy) and she was black. I always looked up to them as strong personalities that were very nice to me. Just carried through in life with me.

Dude - NYC has way more crime than can be shown on the news. Get a grip. 8M+ people in just NYC alone.

I always laugh if people say weird things in public. What’s the point in getting mad?
