Let's be fair a bit. Computer tech has improved massively in the past 30 years. The Patriot missile system started development in the '70s when computers had less memory than a coffee machine today.

@rickjames18 I think your complaint is...there are a few big companies running the show instead of a lot of different companies. Yes, less competition isn't good for any marketplace. Politely, maybe you should spend a few minutes and look into the reasons why it happened. The roots of the problem can be traced to 1993, when the Pentagon, looking to reduce costs, urged defense companies to merge and 51 major contractors consolidated to five giants.

@providentpathfinders219 Settle down dude. If you read their "goals", they are looking for a 30% cost savings. That's impactful, but not mind blowing. Don't get me wrong, we need more supply, competition and speed to market if something happens. I will root for their success.
