  1. You are conflating strategy and execution. Everyone has a hand in the messy withdraw including the CIA and military intel. No one expected the Afghans to fold like a cheap tent in a matter of days.

  2. Wish we would find a way to get Venezuela online. But, that's not an overnight fix. They are definitely the "lesser of the evils" geopolitically.

  3. I donated to both of Obama's campaigns. I'm basically center-left. He was horrible geopolitically. Not as bad as Bush Jr or Trump, but pretty bad. Geopolitics is one of the areas where experience matters. McCain was a bit too much of a hawk for me, but he was right on a lot of stuff.

  4.  @cathjj840  Let's be real and remember the backdrop. Was dealt a horrible hand. Got the deficit sliced back to around 3% of GDP. Used all of his political capital on the ACA. Yeah, being the black dude wasn't a positive. Tea Party was fast asleep when Bush Jr was running up the credit card, but then whining about the deficit when the black dude is in office. Personally, I'm a fan of incrementalism for domestic policies. Foreign policy is different. Despots aren't going to play a fair game.
