The US is where people assimilate the best. Which makes sense.

Anything works if it's in a moderate manner. EVERYTHING starts breaking down if a system gets overloaded.

Korea is changing faster than Japan and has a higher base at 5%. Japan is only 2.5% foreigners now. Japan will never change that much / change slower because...it's extremely hard language to learn how to read and write. People can learn Korea's alphabet in a day. I barely learned 500 kanji when I took Japanese for 1 year in college.

@NA-rj9lk It's nearly impossible. Japan / Korea aren't setup to process normal functions in non-native languages. The system is setup almost intentionally to exclude foreigners. Again, I think Korea will transition a bit faster possibly with "some" English.

@blackcatdungeonmastersfami5311 Man, you don't even remember what you wrote... Again, a sub-category of ethnicity / race has nothing to do with assimilation. If that were true, why do people describe themselves as "African American" after ten generations? Why do people call themselves "Italian American" or "Latino"?

@NA-rj9lk I watch the NHK videos. Japan is doing it the other way. They are training / teaching the immigrants Japanese culture before they arrive. Not the other way around.

@NA-rj9lk Welcome to Japan. Why do you think it's going so slow? It's around 100K now, but they need nearly 5x that amount. It's a country that Amazon was getting annoyed because they love buying DVDs and CDs still.

Pew did a survey about 5 years ago. Half of US Muslims believe gay people should be accepted in society. Pretty comical to think that people speaking a different language equals or doesn't equal assimilation.
