  3.  @2encephalon  Yeap, and I'm a product of the system actually working: Korea. Which has the 12th largest GDP in world. Is your argument that the US had no business being involved in Korea? and the Korean peninsula should be in the hands of the crazy Kim family? People are nuts. You can't pick and choose which US involvement in defending a country was "good" and "bad". It's been a policy. Some worked. Some didn't. And, again. This has no validity with Israel. We don't have troops involved.

  4.  @2encephalon  I'm very centrist on this topic. But, it seems like people are skipping the last 70+ years of Israel's history and how we got there. Gaza and the West Bank weren't under Israel's control. It was Egypt (Gaza) and Jordan (West Bank). And, then the whole Arab world decided to end Israel. It didn't work. They lost territory and it's been occupied by the Israelis ever since. And, that's where we are today. Israel needs security guarantees. The "leaders" of Palestine and some portion of the population wants to get rid of Israel off the map. Then, add in religious stuff and it gets even more crazy. Hamas intentionally lit the match because they were about to lose power. This has been a mess ever since I was a kid and watching the news. (That was a very rough summary leaving out chunks and the British.)

  5.  @2encephalon  No worries dude. And for the record, I think Israel has overplayed it's hand. They have no end game and it's hurting them in the long run.

  6.  @felixfontaeus4518  JFC. Learn how to write a proper f-ing sentence. Who the heck adds "like" to a written sentence? People sound stupid saying it (unintentionally) and you somehow purposely added it. Bernie is using a hyperbolic comparison that isn't relevant. It's disingenuous. We have more influence in swaying Israel by staying connected rather than pulling away.
