Reminder: the GOP cut taxes for the wealthy and rich people. Cost $1 trillion. 2 wars cost another 3 trillion+ and counting. SS could have been easily "shored up". They should start with means based testing with a high limit. Over $250K. And, then create a test for net worth. People worth over $10M or so don't need SS payments. Stop sending payments to rich people and save a few bucks. Also, my late father was very against this though. Felt like it undermined the spirit of the program.

@Upper-cr1kh Tax cuts are permanent you fool. It's not like they go away. (correction: they could have a sunset clause, but too lazy to look up. It wasn't a 1 year tax holiday. It's rolled over to every year so far.) Yeah, thank the corporations for inflation. They raised their prices to protect profit margins. Welcome to capitalism!
