@mradventurer8104 Because that's what people do. It's a bit odd if you run down your whole familial history when you talk to someone. Why do white people get to tell minorities how they classify themselves? And, when everything has to be disclosed?

@taimanchan9380 She went to Howard University and is part of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She literally wrote this in her book: "My mother understood very well that she was raising two black daughters," Harris writes in her autobiography. "She knew that her adopted homeland would see Maya and me as black girls, and she was determined to make sure we would grow into confident, proud black women."
